Chez Gaultier has done it again! The 53 looks shown at a beautiful, stately maison on rue St. Martin were loosely united by a series of sculptural cages, beginning with one crafted atop a masterful short fur coat. They appeared later on in satin dutchess, placed upon ecstatic evening gowns forged of bright feather shades like mustard and hyacinth. Gaultier offers couture at its gutsiest, for fashion fiends more interested in looking interesting than anything else. It's a dream come true!
Paris Couture Fall 2008: Jean Paul Gaultier

peta be DAMNED with all the beautiful furs and skins that were on display on the runway!
Gaultier is an indisputable master of the trench, tux suit, and draped evening gown, and they were all present—the trench in plissé silk, the tux formed into a trompe l'oeil jumpsuit, the dress brilliant in pea green crepe, cobalt blue jersey and a striking neon orange....
I adored all the leather framework of saddle epaulets and harnesses strapped over fur coatS & frocks ... while some thought the collection was "done before" I truly loved it ~ JPG has a special place in my heart (I interned for the house when I was a teen)
