L'Wren Scott Spring/Summer 2009

RED carpet favorite L'Wren Scott delivered a collection that was distinctly avian-flavoured today to a front row that included Sarah Jessica Parker, Ellen Barkin and Rachel Feinstein Currin.
In a palette that consisted almost exclusively of black, white and grey, Scott tried to inject some volume into the collection entitled Zephyr after the God of wind. Her trademark, lean lines were in evidence albeit with a fluffy, feathered edge – a marabou trim here, a feathered Stephen Jones trilby there.
Among our list of "loves" (which also included the aforementioned hats) were the organic prints that popped up in the so-tailored-you might-not-be-able-to-breathe dresses.
There was a striking, organic-looking lace print on a demure boat-necked dress, belted in red patent leather, that would look quite at home in Victoria Beckham's wardrobe and a feathery looking print on a nipped and tucked cocktail dress that is bound to pop up at a film premiere in the near future.
And as for the accessories? Worn by the bouffant-haired and smoky-eyed ladies, we were particularly taken with the lace-up, cut-out heels.
L'Wren Scott played with a lot of textures, feathers, laser cut out on the shoes, the looks were very modern but understated looks you could wear on an everyday basis (granted you have the personality to pull it off...that's another story!)
