Cold Weather Tips for you Skin, Hair & Make Up!

It may be human nature to resist change, but Mother Nature doesn't really have time for such nonsense! I don't know about you but here in the City (hey Whitney) the weather shifts from mild to Arctic and as the temperature cools (and warms up - global warning people!) , our skin, hair, and make up regimens must change too. Since we want a one-way ticket to Heaven we're offering you all our foul-proof strategies to ensure you don't get left out in the cold. Some of these adjustments keeps your skin and hair healthy in the colder, drier climate - so take note dolls!

Snakeskin is stylish on bags & shoes, but on your body? Not so much dolls! Here's how to keep your skin soft and scale-free mid to late winter, no matter how dry the air gets.

I Limit baths & showers to ten minutes, and use warm - not hot water
II Avoid deodorant soaps
III When shaving use an epilator with multiple tweezers to eliminate the possibility of ingrown hairs- we absolutely love Emjoi Light Caress, the revolutionary new concept in hair removal, made of 36 patented tweezers plated in 24k gold (how luxe is that!) that features a light that illuminates hard to see hairs on the upper lips, chin, underarms, bikini line and legs. With Emjoi Light Caress - soft stubble-free, super smooth skin will be yours instantly. Follow up with a rich cream with Shea Butter and your will be ready to snuggle next to your beau on those cold winter nights!

IV Exfoliate twice a week. Coarse salt or walnut scrubs (while we absolutely love them) can be too scratchy, oil base scrubs are better because they moisture as they slough. We recommend Crabtree & Evelyn's Aromatherapy Distilliations Purifying - Clarifying Body Scrub. Made with a slew of essential oils (eucalyptus, lime and almond) this exfoliate will rid your body of any dry skin and will revitalize your senses with it's intoxicating aroma.

V Gently pat skin dry, and while it's still damp, slather on body cream- Kai body butter, made with the finest blend of natural essences and Shea Butter locks in moisture and it's light fragrance will truly lift your spirits (even when the weather is depressing)

VI Twice a week gently buff lips with a damp wash cloth, then apply a lip balm containing Shea Butter or beeswax. Lucky for you we've found an amazing lip balm that contains both! Beauty Rehab SPEARMINT LIP BALM contains both Shea Butter and beeswax - it moisturizes as well as prevents lips from becoming unbearably chapped during the cold season.
VII Once a month, rub an oil treatment through the hair (but try to avoid the roots) we adore TRESemme Repair Hot Oil Treatment - distribute it with a wide-tooth comb, leave it on for ten minutes then shampoo it out. This will add shine and moisture that has been depleted with constant blow drying and hot iron usage.
