Eat, Drink, and Stay Skinny! Packing on the pounds over the holidays does not have to be your fate this year. This is a season that is full of joy, love, and many good things if you let it be just that. Let your body and mind tell you what it needs, wants, and can do without.

1. It’s all Fiber from morning till night!
- Don’t skip breakfast! Most people choose to skip breakfast, but it is not only essential for your physical and mental health, but a recent research study shows that eating breakfast can actually help you shed pounds. A hearty breakfast may be the best way to control your appetite and weight.
- In The F-Factor Diet Book, Tanya suggests a breakfast combination of fiber and protein as the ultimate combination. Fiber and protein are the nutrients that take longest to digest and have the fewest calories.

2. Plan ahead before parties:
- Never go to a party hungry.
- Have a small, healthy fiber filled snack before you go, like a piece of fresh fruit with a handful of almonds, or some high fiber crackers with low fat cheese.

3. Outsmart the holiday buffets:

- Don’t be the first on line

-you don’t want to leave yourself time for seconds.
- Scan the buffets before you choose what you are going to have.
- Try to use a salad plate for your entrée and a saucer plate for dessert. Studies have shown that people eat more simply because it is on their plate.

4. Toast the Season:
- No more than two drinks per day can actually help you keep your weight down.
- Small amounts of alcohol may increase your metabolic rate and lessen the amount of calories your body absorbs from food.
- One alcoholic drink per day can also protect you from heart disease.
- Remember, alcohol is not just about calories, but also about control. If you drink a lot, you wont have as much control over what you eat.

5. Practice the three bite method:
- If you look forward to that decadent piece of chocolate cake all year long, don’t deny yourself. Take a small slice and use the three bite rule. Studies show that people always rate the first and last bites as the best. Three bites give you a first, middle, and last, which is all you need to appreciate a dessert completely

6. Dress for Success:
- When scouring your closet for the perfect dinner outfit, look for items that are tailored and even perhaps a bit snug. It’s much easier to overeat when we are wearing loose fitting clothing.
- When it comes to handbags, forgo any purse with the strap. Instead, grab a clutch. When you are holding a clutch in one hand, and a cocktail in your other, there are no hands free to hold a plateful of pigs in the blanket.
