Though you can pretty much use any at home hair removal method you can achieve some degree of success, however we here at LPB believe that top notch waxing and laser treatments from salons yields the best, most fuzz-free results. Whether you prefer to D.I.Y. or leave the hair removal in the hands of an expert we have one place in mind and one place alone – Urbana. Now we can understand doing some treatments at home because times are hard on the wallet but trust us Urbana is a splurge that will truly be a well spent investment! Here we share some of our wallet friendly Urbana tips to ensure that your beauty splurge will leave you silky smooth for weeks to come!
- First be sure your hair is long enough: It should be a quarter of an inch long if it's fine and a half-inch long if it's coarse. Otherwise, the wax is not going to work.
- Be sure to prepare for your spa/salon visit: Stop using retinoids, like retinol, Retin-A, and Renova, at least a week beforehand to prevent redness and burns. And insist that the aesthetician clean up the fuzz above your brows, too—the overall shape will look much better for weeks longer.
- After waxing, soothe the skin with an aloe lotion, or use hydrocortisone cream if you get any red bumps.
- Lasers work by wrecking hair at the root, preventing it from growing back for a year—or much longer. Sessions are fast, lasting just a few minutes, and feel a little like a rubber band being snapped against your skin (i.e., not pleasant but not particularly painful, either.)
